Should the framing choices be left to a supplier (similar to roof trusses), or should specific sizes and grades be specified?

Decarb Lunch: Reducing Embodied Carbon for Step Code Homes - Lessons from the City of Nelson

As we reduce the operational emissions in buildings, embodied carbon emissions from materials take up a bigger portion of a building’s total carbon footprint. Following in the footsteps of many local governments, the Province’s recently released CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 has targeted operational emissions in new buildings, but the impact is spread out over the life of the building. Material carbon emissions are the now.

Join ZEBx, CLF Vancouver, Builders for Climate Action and the City of Nelson for our next Decarb Lunch focused on the findings of an embodied emissions study of 34 step code homes in Nelson and Castlegar.
