Architects Act Repealed, new Architects Regulation takes effect.

As announced previously, as of February 10, 2023 the Architects Act has been repealed and no longer governs architecture in the Province of BC. The Architect’s Institute of BC (AIBC) is now under the Authority of the Professional Governance Act (PGA), and the new Architects Regulation has come into effect. The limits imposed on Building Designers in BC has essentially remained the same with a few adjustments. You can learn more about the restrictions on our website by clicking the link below. We look forward to seeing how the PGA will provide a quicker response to the needs of the public in the future.
